Book 3 of 42: Fancy Pants

Fancy Pants, by Cathy Marie Hake, is a book that I would recommend to a friend.  It is a lighthearted, funny, Christian romance novel that takes us through the life of Lady Sydney Hathwell, who dresses up as a man in 1890 in order to secure a place to live on her uncle's ranch in Texas.  Of course, she ends up falling in love with her uncle's business partner after he discovers that she is not, in fact, a nephew of his friend but rather a niece.

Reading this book, there were moments I laughed out loud, despite the presence of my confused and bewildered husband, who rarely reads novels for enjoyment.  (In his defense, he reads, researches, and writes for a living and therefore does not want anything to do with the printed word in his off time.)
